Vaibhav was born on March 27, 2011, in Tajpur village, Samastipur district, Bihar. His father, Sanjeev, is a farmer. Vaibhav began playing cricket at the age of four. His father recognized his passion and built a small playground behind their home. When Vaibhav turned nine, he was enrolled in a cricket academy in nearby Samastipur.
